מכתב מבית הסוהר 1

החלטתי להשיב על מכתבך באמצעות הטור שלי בעיתון, מפני שהוא כלל שאלות רבות שהיו משותפות לעשרות מכתבים אחרים שקיבלתי. בהקשר זה, הרשי לי להשיב מיד על אחת משאלותייך: לא, כמובן, מכתבים אינם מטרידים אותי, ואני מקפיד להשיב על כולם אישית. הם מתקבלים בברכה, מפני שהם מלמדים אותי שאנשים רבים למדו מן הכתבים שלי וממעשיי, ותמיכה זו חשובה לי מאוד. אנשים נוטים לשכוח שהמנהיגים או האנשים שהם קוראים עליהם בתקשורת הם – בסופו של דבר – רק בשר ודם, ככל אדם, עם אותם רגשות וצרכים. כך שאני עונה לך ולרבים האחרים ששאלו אותי על כך במכתביהם: המכתבים שלכם מתקבלים בשמחה, וייענו. הם אינם "גוזלים את זמני", מפני שהמגע האישי קושר אתכם יותר גם לרעיון, אני מקווה. ובסיום, באותו עניין – את ואותם רבים אחרים שכתבו על בעיות וחיפושים אישיים – כמובן, תכתבו, ואם אני יכול לעזור, אין זה שאני מוכן לעזור, אלא אני חייב בכך. מענו את המכתב בפשטות אלי, אצל תנועת כך, רח' אוסישקין 31, ירושלים.
איך זה בכלא, ואיזה סוג חיים אלו? דבר אחד צריך להבין: אין בית סוהר "טוב", ורק מי שמעולם לא היה כלוא יכול להאמין שיש בתי סוהר "קלים". עצם היותו של אדם מאחורי סורג ובריח, כשחרותו נטולה ממנו, גם מחניק וגם מדכא. קל וחומר כשאדם יודע באיזו מהירות נעים הדברים בחוץ – לכיוון של אסון – בעוד הוא אינו מסוגל לעשות את הדברים שבוערים בתוכו ומחפשים מוצא.
כלא רמלה הוא בית הסוהר הראשי במדינת ישראל, ומאכלס את רוב הפושעים הקשים. משך זמן רב טופחה האמונה שיהודים אינם עושים אותם פשעים אלימים שאנשים אחרים עושים. האמת היא, שחלומה של הציונות החילונית להפוך את היהודים לעם "נורמלי" הצליחה מעבר לדמיון הפרוע ביותר. נעשינו נורמליים כמו כל האחרים...
באגף שלי בבית הסוהר יש כשבעים אסירים, שמתוכם כ-35% נמצאים כאן בגלל רצח. בין הפשעים האחרים שבגינם נכלאו השכנים שלי, ניתן למנות: אונס, שוד בנקים, גניבת נשק מהצבא ונסיון לרצח. הדבר המכאיב ביותר מאחורי כל זה הוא ההכרה שהיהודים הספרדים שנמצאים כאן בפרופורציה עצומה באים ממשפחות שהגיעו למדינת ישראל עם הקמתה. רצח או אונס מצד יהודים היו דבר כמעט לא קיים בתימן, בעיראק, בלוב, במרוקו, באלג'יר ובכל אחת מהארצות שמהן באו האנשים האלו. האירוניה המרירה ביותר היא שדוקא במדינה היהודית, הם הגיעו לכל הדברים הללו.
כיון שמדינת ישראל היא מדינה מאוד "מאצ'ואיסטית", ש"אומץ" הוא בראש התכונות הרצויות, לי אישית אין בעיות בכלל. הן האסירים והן הסוהרים מגלים סימפאטיה עצומה למעשיי, ועושים ככל יכולתם למעני. אבל אלו אנשים אלימים, שזעמם ושנאתם בקושי רוככו ע"י תקופת מאסר ארוכה. עוד לא שמעתי אחד מהם שמביע חרטה על מעשיו, ומה שקורה הוא שהתנאים הפיזיים הקשים והעדרה הכמעט מוחלט של כל תכנית שיקום משמעותית, יוצרים אנשים טעוני שנאה, שישתחררו לא כמתחרטים אלא כאנשים נוקשים ומסוכנים.
התנאים הפיזיים הקשים שאני מדבר עליהם הם, בחלקם הגדול, באגף הכללי של בית הסוהר, שם הצפיפות היא כל כך חמורה, עד שאין זה נדיר שיהיו ששה עשר אסירים בתא אחד, שמתוכם שלשה או ארבעה ישנים על מזרונים על הרצפה. מעט מאוד נעשה כדי להפריד בין הגרעין הקשה לבין האסירים ה"טריים", וזה תמיד יוצר קשיים, לפעמים שטניים, עבור החדשים, שהם חלשים. ההומוסקסואליות חוגגת בין הגברים שמופרדים מנשותיהם למשך שנים, והאסיר החלש עובר השפלה נוראית.
בעוד שכמה אסירים כאן נשפטו על הפשע הראשון שלהם (אחדים נמצאים כאן בעוון מגע עם סוכנים זרים, בדרך כלל בקשר לסודות צבאיים), רובם מהגרעין הקשה, שחזרו לסורם. בדרך כלל, הם באים מבתים הרוסים, ובילו את רוב שנות ילדותם במוסדות. פה אחד הם מגנים מוסדות אלה על שלא עשו דבר לשקם את הילדים, ועל שהסגל שלהם מורכב ממדריכים חסרי הכשרה שלעיתים קרובות הכו את הילדים וקשרו אותם.
אכן, מוסדות אלה נוטים להיות בתי ספר לפשיעה, ורוב הילדים מסיימים את "בית הספר" ומתקדמים לבית הסוהר לנוער בתל מונד, ששם האכזריות הפראית בקרב האסירים נודעת לשמצה. הנוער המבוגר והחזק יותר משתלט על היותר צעירים והיותר חלשים, וכדי לזכות באהדה, הנער מתחבר לדברים שבמצב אחר לא היו מתקבלים על דעתם. וכך, אם המוסדות הם בתי ספר יסודיים לפשיעה, ותל מונד הוא בית הספר התיכון – בתי הכלא המרכזיים (רמלה, דאמון, שאטה ובאר שבע) הם ה"אוניברסיטאות".
כאן אדם יכול ללמוד בערך כל מה שיש לדעת: סמים (עולם מלא); מי הם הדמויות האפלוליות שהם בעלי הכוח האמיתי בעולם התחתון; איך להשיג נשק; איך לגנוב, ועל מי אפשר לסמוך למכור לו את הרכוש הגנוב. כל הקורסים הללו ועוד – זמינים באוניברסיטת רמלה.
בעל הברית הטוב ביותר של רשויות בית הסוהר, בבית הסוהר, הוא המלשין. יש רבבת סיבות שבגללן אסירים כאן יהיו מוכנים להלשין על אחרים: ציפיה לחנינה; תקווה להעברה לאגף טוב יותר; תקווה לגישה נוחה יותר לסמים (הסמים נפוצים כאן, והאסירים טוענים בתוקף שהרשויות מעלימים עין כלפי סמים שמוכנסים עבור האסירים "המועדפים"); אפילו ציפייה לביקור של קרובים בלי מסך מבדיל. כמובן, מלשינים לא מעטים נרצחו או נפצעו קשה, ויש מלשינים מוּכרים שנמצאים בבידוד קבוע לטובתם.
אחד העובדות המעציבות ביותר הוא עירוב אסירים יהודים עם מחבלים ערבים. יש "אינטגרציה" מלאה כאן, כאשר אסירים יהודים מושלכים לתאים יחד עם מחבלים ערביים, שרובם השתתפו ברצח ישראלים.
המחבלים מקבלים בדיוק אותו טיפול שמקבלים האסירים היהודים, בנוסף לביקורים של הצלב האדום וחבילות מזון. אין פלא שהפעילות החבלנית נמשכת, כאשר כל חבר אש"ף יודע שהוא לא יקבל עונש מוות. יש כאן מחבלים ערביים שקיבלו עונשי מאסר של חמש, שבע או עשר שנים, או מאסרי עולם. כל אחד ממתין שייחטף חייל ישראלי, ויוחלף בחמישים מחבלים ערביים או יותר, כפי שעשה בגין בשנה שעברה.
זה זמן רב אני תומך בעונש מוות למחבלים. אך אם אין זה מתקבל, אני סבור שיש לשים אותם בתאים קטנים אינדיבידואליים, כאשר יותר להם לצאת לחצר שעתיים ביום, בלי לשוחח ביניהם. כל שארית היום, כולל שעות האוכל, עליהם להיות בבידוד. אני לא מדמיין אדם שיכול לחיות כך עשרים וחמש שנה או יותר. זהו עונש הולם בהחלט.
אני מקדיש את יומי ללימוד ולכתיבה. כמובן, המאסר אינו מרתיע אותי. רעיונותי והפופולריות של "תנועת כך" גדלים מיום ליום. פחד, הרתעה, אובדן תקווה – כל הדברים שמונעים כל סיכוי לעשיית דברים גדולים – כולם נובעים מהשקפת עולם יסודית, והיא: שהדבר החשוב ביותר בחיים הוא ליהנות מחיים מהנים ולא-כואבים ככל האפשר. אם זה הבסיס להשקפת העולם של האדם, אל יעשה את מה שאני עושה.
לעומת זאת, אם אדם מאמין שהחיים הם כמו ימי שכירות ארעית, ארעית מאוד; שהם ניתנים כמתנה של הייעוד – כחובה להשיג גדולה וקדושה – אזי ממה יש לפחד? אם אינך מפחד, שום דבר אינו יכול למנוע ממך מלעשות את מה שאתה רוצה. לעולם אל תשכחי זאת. ושוב, אל תהססי לכתוב.
